ITC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid for Schools and Colleges

Key objectives:

  • Satisfies a school’s legal requirement for workplace first aiders.
  • Includes both adult and paediatric first aid as standard.
  • Designed for schools and delivered by teachers or educational professionals.
  • Suitable substitute for the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification 

This one-day course covers a range of first aid skills involving children and adults, including CPR. It can be completed instead of the EFAW to satisfy your workplace first aid obligations. It includes child first aid as standard, and covers topics relevant to the school environment.

Key information

  • Combines practical and theoretical classroom work.
  • Practical assessment of CPR and first aid.
  • The EFASch course requires six hours of teaching and can be delivered over one day.
  • The award is valid for three years from the date of assessment.
  • The qualification is Ofqual accredited and meets HSE requirements.

Course requirements:

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment.
  • No prior first aid knowledge if required.
