Introduction

The Mill Adventure Base Approved Activity Provider (AAP) is offering a Bronze expedition training, practice & expedition programme based in Nottinghamshire. This programme is suitable for students already enrolled as a Bronze DofE participant but who are unable to complete their expedition as part of a DofE group at school/club etc.

Why us?

The Mill Adventure Base AAP has been delivering DofE expeditions for Nottinghamshire schools and students since 2013. As an approved DofE Expedition provider and part of Nottinghamshire County Councils Notts Outdoors Team, all our staff are highly experienced, qualified, DBS checked & first aid trained. Safe working practices following national guidance, risk assessments, operational procedures and government advice will be followed.

Training and expedition programme

Each of the four-day, three-night programmes will include an initial training day, training walk and skills consolidation leading straight into the final expedition.  The expedition training and expedition package will fulfil the DofE training framework to meet the expedition aims and requirements that includes practical training in navigation, first aid, rucksack packing, route-planning, tents, stoves and cooking. 

Included

Camp fees, stoves, stove gas, tents, expedition rucksack, any necessary minibus transport, qualified supervisors and assessors using both direct and remote supervision, maps & compasses and assessor report. Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Not Included

Food, personal equipment, transport to start & finish points, personal items insurance.

A participant training booklet will be sent out at the time of booking along with booking confirmation.  Joining instructions will be sent out approximately 6 weeks before the booked dates.
