Sherwood Forest Outlaw Day

Our exciting Outlaw family experience starts with an adventure through the beautiful Sherwood Forest where you will meet some of the famous outlaws from the stories of old. We will visit the Major Oak, look at some of the weapons from Medieval times and earn about crime and Punishment and what life was really like in the forest!

After lunch you can test your den building skills in our dedicated den build area and see if you can build a den to survive in the forest. You day will end with you making a wooden medallion to remind you of your Outlaw adventure.

£15 per adult
£10 per child

Children under 6 are free, but please email the team prior to the day to inform us if this is the case.

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Suitable for families.

Routes through the forest are on main pathways but please contact us if you have any queries on suitability for wheelchair users or pushchairs.

Arrival time 10.30am

Finish time 2.30pm

*Please bring with you your own lunch and refreshments for the day.

*Car parking is available in the RSPB car park at an additional cost.

*Please meet at the Robin Hood statue at the entrance to the Shop at the Visitors centre where you will be greeted by one of our team.

*The day runs from our St John's Hut base and belongings can be stored safely in this area for the day.

*Although we love our canine friends, we kindly ask that dogs are not brought on the Den build day.   


All tickets are non-refundable. However, if adverse weather is forecast, this day may be cancelled at short notice. In the event of Notts Outdoors cancelling the event, a full refund will be given.


10% from each ticket sold will be donated to the RSPB, a registered charity in England and Wales, number 207076, and in Scotland, number SC037654.
